Punjab recovered 10604 crore GST: 22.6 percent recovery detail recorded in the financial year, estimated to recover 20550 crore in the first budget

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that Punjab has collected Rs 10,604 crore as GST in the current financial year. With this, for the first time after the implementation of GST, the figure of 10 thousand has been crossed in 6 months. The GST collection during the current financial year has registered a 22.6 percent expansion.

Finance Minister Cheema said that during the first 6 months of the last financial year, the Punjab Government had collected GST of Rs.

Disclosing the GST data for September 2022, Cheema said that the state has registered a growth rate of 22 per cent. The GST collection in September this year has been Rs 1710 crore as against the collection of 1402 crore in September 2021.

The Finance Minister said that the Punjab government under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Mann has estimated GST recovery of Rs 20,550 crore in its first budget for the financial year 2022-23. He said that Punjab has achieved more than 50 per cent realization in the first 6 months and expects good growth in GST collection during the festival season.

The Finance Minister said that the Punjab Government has passed the Punjab Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2022 in the Punjab Legislative Assembly to remove all the loopholes along with preventing fake billing. This will not only benefit the traders, but Punjab’s own revenue will also expand.
