Today is the last day of the first phase of the budget session of Parliament. The proceedings of both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have started. Opposition MPs create ruckus in Rajya Sabha on Adani issue. Opposition is continuously demanding JPC on Hindenburg report. Leaders of 14 opposition parties met Rajya Sabha MP Mallikarjun Kharge in the Parliament chamber ahead of the session.

Here, the Lok Sabha Secretariat has issued a notice to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. The secretariat has sought response from Rahul Gandhi on the notice of breach of privilege of BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi. The Lok Sabha Secretariat has asked Rahul Gandhi to file a reply to this notice by February 15.

On the notice to Rahul in the Lok Sabha, Kharge said – Whatever Rahul Gandhi had said in the Parliament is already in the public domain, he has said the same thing that everyone speaks and writes. There is nothing unparliamentary in this. So he will reply to the notice accordingly.

The second phase will start from March 13
The second phase of the budget session will begin on March 13 and will continue till April 6. In the second phase, the Finance Bill will be discussed in both the Houses of the Parliament, after which the Bill will be passed by both the Houses. From January 31 to April 6, a total of 27 meetings are to be held in a total of 66 days (including holidays).

Let us tell you that the first phase of the session started with the President’s address on 31 January. So far 9 sittings (excluding holidays) have been held, in which 4 times the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha had to be adjourned due to uproar.

35 bills pending in parliament
According to the bulletin received from Lok Sabha-Rajya Sabha, there are a total of 35 bills pending in the Parliament. Of these, 9 bills are to be introduced in the Lok Sabha and 26 in the Rajya Sabha. Bills are less likely to be discussed and passed in the first phase of the session. However, several important bills can be introduced in the second phase of the session.

Of the 26 bills pending in the Rajya Sabha, three have already been passed by the Lok Sabha. These include the Inter-State River Water Disputes (Amendment) Bill 2019, the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Third Amendment) Bill 2022 and the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Fifth Amendment) Bill 2022.
