Pre-budget discussion, people said: Provision of municipal budget should be made zone, ward, sector, colony and village wise, monitoring should be done every three months

Several tips were given to increase the source of income of the Municipal Corporation, before passing the budget, the people of the city will give a demand letter to the Corporation Commissioner.

Various organizations of the city held a meeting in the Sector 15 community building regarding the municipal budget and discussed extensively about the problems and development of the city. Outgoing councilors of the corporation, chartered accountants, advocates and office bearers of many social organizations were also present in the meeting. Everyone insisted that the municipal administration should change the provision of budget pass.

They should prepare and pass zone, ward, sector, colony and village wise budgets so that there is no inequality in the development of the city. Along with this, monitoring of the development works and problems should be done every third month. People also gave many suggestions for collecting revenue by making proper use of the vacant land of the Corporation. The residents of the city have decided that before the budget is passed, a demand letter will be handed over to the municipal commissioner so that it can be considered.

Emphasis should be on water road sewer problem

Speakers in the meeting said that the problems of water, roads and sewers have become common in the entire city. In this situation, the municipal administration should prepare separate budgets for these three items for the 24 villages included in the zone, ward, colony, sector and corporation. That money should also be spent on this basis so that problems can be solved. People said that in this city with a population of 26 lakhs, unless the budget is prepared through the system, the condition cannot improve.

Monitoring every third month

The speakers said that after passing the budget, it should be monitored every third month as to how much of the budget allocated for the said zone or ward was utilized and how many problems were solved. The corporation should also make the details of the expenditure public so that the tax payers can know how much money was spent on what work.

Budget of crores is passed, nothing is visible

Speakers said that the municipal administration passes a budget of crores every year. Still the problems keep piling up. After all, where does the money go? People said that last year the corporation had passed a budget of about 2200 crores. Out of that, no one knows how much money was spent and how much is left. People said that the Nigam Sadan passed the budget of 2200 crores, yet people continued to struggle with problems throughout the year.

The problem of sewer and pit has not improved in twenty years

Speakers said that for the last 20 years, the problem of sewer jam, potholes on the roads and street lights is still there in the city. Then what is the justification for passing the budget of crores. Organizer of pre-budget discussion Ret. Wing Commander Satendra Duggal said that soon a demand letter will be handed over to the Corporation Commissioner on behalf of the residents of the city. Suggestions will be given in it. Senior advocate OP Sharma, Pramod Rana, head of IMT, outgoing councilor Deepak Chowdhary, Mahavir Vishnoi from Sector 18, Kavish Saluja from Sector 15, RTI activist Ravindra Chawla, AK Gaur from Graf, Ramesh Gulia, Paras Bhardwaj from Save Faridabad, Naharpar were present in the meeting. Vikas Morcha’s Arun Sharma Bharti, Chartered Accountant and others were included.
