The SIT’s fact-finding investigation is in slow motion in the case of a Chandigarh University student making obscene videos of other girl students in the swimming pool and washroom on the night of September 17 and sending them to boys from Himachal. It is clear that the accused will go to judicial after completion of the police remand period. But the police investigation constituted for the investigation will proceed in a timeless manner. This is being said because, when the higher officials of the police department were questioned in this regard, they called the investigation stable at the initial stage. Police said that at present the forensic report is awaited. Along with this, information has to be obtained from the digital platform of the girl students going viral. Unless the evidence is collected from forensic experts and related digital platforms, the police investigation will not be able to proceed beyond the current situation.

Police can send multiple time reminders. But the technical record could not be found simultaneously. The concerned authority may take a long time to respond or provide information. For this reason, the cases of cyber fraud are increasing continuously in the country and the disposal rate of technical cases is very low.
Near the mobile and laptop forensic team of the accused, the police have seized the mobiles of Himachal residents Sunny Mehta and Rankaj Verma, including the girl who made the video of the girl students. More than 12 objectionable videos were found from the student’s mobile, which were sent to Sunny Mehta and Rankaj Verma. However, according to the police, all the video clips belong to the girl who made the video of the girl students. The police have also seized the laptop of the accused student. Forensic experts will recover deleted files and photos and videos from mobile and laptop. Only then can the police investigation proceed.
On the question of investigation of all the washrooms of the university, the SIT team called it a part of investigation. Two days ago, the police tried to connect the dummy scene of crime with their investigation. Mohali Police is busy in the case from day one. Because when the incident came to light, the police, who reached the spot without investigation, started saying that no video of any girl student has been made. Whereas according to the students of the university, the accused student was making videos of them for more than a week. But why she was doing this, the Punjab Police has not been able to give the answer yet.
If the statements of the three accused are different, then who is the real culprit? 1. The role of the main accused student in the case has been given the shield of being blackmailed in the police investigation. 2. Accused Sunny is denying that he got obscene videos of any girl on mobile. Sunny also denied blackmailing the accused student and making videos of other girl students viral. 3. The third accused, Rankaj said that he has not done anything. Rankaj told the police that his photo was misused and used on WhatsApp. The mentioned mobile number and the IP address of the laptop are not his.
In such a situation, questions are being raised that if all the three accused stick to their stand and the police are not able to collect solid evidence, then how will the case survive in the court? But the answer is not with the SIT engaged in the investigation at present.
