In the program organized at Police Line Mandla on Police Commemoration Day, tributes were paid to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives while performing their duties. Remembering with moist eyes 264 policemen who were martyred in the country this year.
In the program organized on Friday morning, Superintendent of Police Yashpal Singh Rajput read the names of all 264 martyrs and laid a wreath at the Amar Jawan Shaheed Memorial. After which all the police officers took turns to pay obeisance to the martyrs. Along with this, the police personnel also paraded and saluted the brave soldiers. Earlier, the martyr policemen of the district were honored.
Memorial Day is celebrated every year
On this occasion, Superintendent of Police Yashpal Singh Rajput said that Police Commemoration Day is celebrated on 21 October in the memory of the police and para-military personnel who were martyred in the last one year. Under this, salute was given by remembering the 264 policemen who were martyred last year in Police Line Mandla.
Along with this, the families of the policemen of the district who were martyred in the past have been honored. On this occasion, the general public including the police officers of the district, station in-charge, policemen, families of the martyrs were present.
