Pochettino to take Chelsea manager’s job

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Mauricio Pochettino as their head coach next season, with the 51-year-old signing a long-term contract to take over from temporary boss Frank Lampard. The former Tottenham manager has been the Blues’ primary target, and the club will be delighted to have wrapped up a deal for the former PSG manager.

Pochettino is widely regarded as one of the best football managers in the world, having led Tottenham Hotspur to their first UEFA Champions League final in 2019 and Paris Saint-Germain to the final in 2020-21. Known for his tactical acumen, man-management skills, and ability to develop young players, Pochettino is a highly respected figure in the football world. He is also known for his emphasis on playing attacking, attractive football, and his teams are often praised for their high-pressing style and quick transitions.

Chelsea have been keen to move for Pochettino after seeing Graham Potter fail in his reign in charge of the club, and Lampard’s inability to reverse the club’s form so far this season.

It is understood that Pochettino will earn around £150,000 a week to take the Blues’ role.
