Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Punjab on August 24. He will inaugurate the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mullapur, Mohali. This hospital has been made in the name of Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Search Center. In which cancer patients will get affordable treatment. This visit of PM Modi will be important from the point of view of his security.
He will visit Punjab for the first time after the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab. Earlier, there was a lapse in his security during the tenure of Congress government and Charanjit Channi as CM. After which he had returned. After this he had come to Punjab to rally during the election code of conduct.
Last year, during the Congress government, PM Modi had to stand on the flyover in Ferozepur. After this, he left the inauguration of development projects incomplete and returned.
300 beds capacity in the hospital
Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital has a capacity of 300 beds. In this, OPDs of Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Preventive Oncology, Anesthesia have been started. Apart from this, modern facilities like MRI, CT, Mammography, Digital Radiography, are also available here. The center also offers chemotherapy for biopsy and superficial surgery and day care for minor OTs.
Chief Secretary VK Janjua visited this hospital a day earlier.
6 states will get benefit
According to the managers, this hospital will be completely ready in 6 months. All its 300 beds will be operational. With this, not only Punjab but also the patients of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan will get world class cancer treatment.
Chief Secretary visited
The government has also swung into action as soon as PM Modi came to know about the arrival of Punjab. Yesterday itself Chief Secretary VK Janjua visited Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre. Where Deputy Director Ashish Gulia said that so far 300 patients have been treated from here.
