The District Marketing Department has completed preparations for the purchase of paddy from farmers in Ghazipur from November 1 to February 28. District Food Marketing Officer Ratan Kumar Shukla said that the target of opening a total of 122 purchasing centers for paddy procurement has been achieved. 56 purchasing centers have been opened on the first day.
He informed that the purchase of paddy of farmers on support price will continue till February 28. He told that all the centers have been opened in the district, all the officers have been deployed there. Along with this, arrangements have also been made for the farmers. Told that the purchase of paddy of the farmers coming during this period will be done directly. Arrangements have also been made to give offline tokens to the farmers as the crowd increases. This time the target of procurement of paddy has been fixed at 2,15,000 metric tonnes. Giving relief to the farmers, the system of online token has been abolished. All farmers will be paid online.

Last year, a total of 131 purchase centers were operating in the district. Last year, 31 purchasing centers were opened against 31 centers of marketing branch, 14 centers against 15 centers of PCF, 10 centers against 40 centers of PCU, 1 center against 1 center of Food Corporation of India, total 56 centers were opened.
