Opposition parties aim to plot confrontation between PTI and Pakistan Army: Imran Khan


Hakiki Azadi March: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday (November 1) hit out at his political opponents, alleging that they are plotting a confrontation between his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party (PTI) and the country’s army. The former prime minister has announced that his aim is to achieve Hakiki Azadi (real freedom) through the rally. According to Imran Khan, real freedom is possible only if free and fair elections are held immediately and he is not against the establishment (army) of the country.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed his supporters in Gujranwala on the fifth day of ‘Hakiki Azadi March’. During this, Khan continued his scathing attack against his political opponents former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former President Asif Ali Zardari. “They are plotting a confrontation between the country’s largest political party PTI and the army,” Khan alleged. He said, ‘Nawaz Sharif, I challenge you, when you come back, I will defeat you in your own constituency.’

Imran Khan warned the three-time former prime minister that when he returns to Pakistan, ‘we will take you from the airport to Adiala Jail’. Former prime minister Imran Khan also hit out at former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Zardari and said he should be prepared for his arrival in Sindh, the traditional stronghold of the Bhutto-Zardari family. Khan said, “Listen carefully to Zardari, I am coming to Sindh.”

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took a jibe at Khan’s rally, saying, “The party is not even able to gather a crowd of 2000 people, while claiming to have gathered one million people”.

What is Hakiki Azadi March?

Former PM Imran Khan is going to take out a Hakiki Azadi March from Lahore to Islamabad against the current Shahbaz Sharif’s government of Pakistan. So that pressure can be put on the ruling government. The government and the army are not liking the same thing. For this, the army has been deployed in Islamabad, while the government has also issued guidelines.
