Operation De-addiction Campaign: Police and Excise Department raid on Dhabas and Hotels at night, 60 people caught – Case registered on 55

On the instructions of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Police Headquarter Bhopal, the action of the Police and Excise Department started on Saturday night at the Dhabas of the district. The Collector has given strict orders under the de-addiction campaign. If liquor is served or found at any dhaba in the district, the dhaba will be closed.

Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Khargone Dharamveer Singh, all the police stations of the district took action against illegal liquor vendors and those driving in a state of intoxication. In the action taken during the night, the police raided more than 50 dhabas and hotels in the district. During this action, the police found liquor at many places. More than 60 people were also arrested during the action taken by the police. At the same time, more than 55 cases were also registered during the action.

Due to the action on Saturday night in the district, many dhabas and hotels were closed. ASP Manish Khatri said that action is being taken under the Excise Act by confiscating illicit liquor after intensively checking all hotels, dhabos located in all police stations and outpost areas of the district. This campaign will continue continuously in the district.
