Covid-19 Cases In India: Governments have come on alert mode as the figures of Corona have increased in India in the last few days. However, going by the population-based data, the latest surge in Covid cases is not going to be as bad as some countries like New Zealand, France or South Korea.
Experts say that there are only two cases of corona per 10 lakh population in India. This figure is much less than many European and American countries. According to data available on Outworld in Data, New Zealand has 293 cases per million population in the last seven days on 6 April. France recorded 126 cases per million last week, while South Korea has 163 infections on the same population. According to the same data of April 6, there were 75 cases per 1 million in America, while there were 46 cases in Britain.
India in better position than other countries
The cases of Kovid are increasing in the country, but the above data shows that we are in a better position than other countries in terms of numbers. However, experts have expressed apprehension that these figures may also be due to insufficient testing being done in India. India had conducted 22 lakh corona tests in a day in August 2021, whereas at present this number is 1 lakh.
Center gave instructions to increase testing
A Times of India report quoted Rahul Pandit, ICU chief of Sir HN Reliance Hospital as saying that people are not getting themselves tested. Those who do, have mild symptoms of the disease.
The health department of Maharashtra has told about testing that on most days it is according to the World Health Organization’s instruction of 140 tests per 10 lakh population. However, the central government has directed all the states to increase testing. Also asked to use RTPCR technology instead of Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT).
