Today (October 2) is the 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. His birth anniversary is celebrated as International Day of Non-Violence.
United Nations chief Antonio Guterres paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by tweeting from his official handle, in which he said that by adopting the values of Mahatma Gandhi, we can overcome today’s challenges.

UN chief Antonio Guterres wrote in a tweet, “On International Day of Nonviolence, we celebrate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and the values of peace, respect and the essential dignity shared by all. We can overcome today’s challenges by embracing these values and working across cultures and borders to build a better future.
Along with this, Guterres has also shared a picture of a memorial of a pistol with a bent tube in a Twitter post. This monument gives the message of non-violence.
Mahatma Gandhi is considered ideal in the world
Mahatma Gandhi is considered a role model across the world for the values of truth and non-violence. Many countries became independent by taking inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi.
