North Korea Fires Second Ballistic Missile: Despite the US threat, North Korea has created a sensation in the Korean island by firing a second ballistic missile for the second consecutive day on Friday (November 18). South Korea’s military said North Korea fired another intercontinental ballistic missile into the East Sea. This is the second time the missile has been launched from Pyongyang in two days. North Korea has kept up a record-breaking run of launches in recent days, fueling fears of a nuclear test.
Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said it detected a long-range ballistic missile fired from Pyongyang’s Sunan region toward the East Sea. However, the type or range of the missile was not immediately explained in detail. Japan has also confirmed North Korea’s ballistic missile launch. Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said it was believed to have fallen into the waters off the northern region of Hokkaido, within the country’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
No damage to planes and ships
Japanese Prime Minister Kishida told reporters on the sidelines of the Bangkok summit that a ballistic missile launched towards North Korea is believed to have landed in our EEZ west of Hokkaido. He said that there were no preliminary reports of damage to ships or aircraft.

It was launched a day after North Korea fired a short-range ballistic missile. North Korea’s Foreign Affairs Minister Cho Son Hui warned that the more the United States helps its allies, the more North Korea will retaliate. Washington has been seeking to boost regional security cooperation and intensify joint military exercises in response to growing provocations from the nuclear-armed North, which sees all such moves as evidence of US aggression.

Experts said the launch of one of North Korea’s most powerful weapons was a clear sign that leader Kim Jong Un was displeased with the recent talks.
