One thing has been mentioned in this report that in the companies which increase on the basis of January-December performance cycle, the salary increase for the financial year 2023 is less.

Based on data from Deloitte India in the report, it has been found that the rate of increase in salary can be better than others in tourism, travel, hospitality, consumer, FMCG and power sectors. That means salary hike in all these sectors will be better than other companies. If the service sector has benefited from the opening of the Indian economy, then there can be good news for the employees of this sector as well. Deloitte has taken this data from about 300 companies and most of the multinational companies have been included in these.

How will be the appraisal in technology companies
A decline in increment can be seen in the country’s tech companies because these companies are making efforts to reduce costs. Meta, Amazon, Twitter, Microsoft are the latest examples of this where employees are being fired due to the global tech recession. According to the report, 11.3 percent salary hike will be seen in FY 2023 in information technology product companies. Earlier in the financial year 2022, there was an increase of 12 percent in this sector.

The growth in the IT services sector will be 8.8 per cent, which was 9.4 per cent in FY2022. In third party IT services, the appraisal could be 7.8 per cent in FY2023, which was at 8.7 per cent in FY2022.

How will be the appraisal in FMCG companies
In consumer or fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies, the salary of employees may increase by 9.8 percent, which is more than the 9 percent appraisal given in the last financial year, whereas in the manufacturing sector, a salary hike of 9.8 percent can be seen. That was 10.2 percent in the last financial year 2022.

How will be the increment in service sector
The appraisal is estimated at 9.8 per cent for the service sector, which is higher than last year’s 8.9 per cent for FY2022. Similarly, employees in the travel, hospitality and tourism sector can expect a salary hike of 9.6 per cent this year, which can be said to be a good increase from 8.5 per cent in the previous financial year. On the other hand, a flat salary hike can be seen in the retail sector and it can remain at the level of 8 percent.

How much will be the salary hike of the power sector
Power sector – which includes conventional and renewable segments, in which the salary of employees of renewable segment can increase by 11 percent, which will be more than 9.6 percent last year. The increment of those working in the conventional power segment can be 9.5 percent, which was 9 percent last time. On the other hand, 9.1 percent was seen in the pharma sector last year, which may come down marginally to 8.9 percent this year.
