Myanmar refugee woman gang-raped in Delhi, four people were also accused of being held hostage


Delhi Rape Case: A case of gang rape with a Myanmar woman has come to light in Kalindi Kunj police station area. The police have registered an FIR on the basis of the allegations made by the woman. But the police have not been able to catch any of the accused till now. The woman alleges that an auto driver made her unconscious by smelling her clothes and then kidnapped her along with her one and a half year old child. Then took her to an unknown room, where 4 people raped her. The police is probing the entire matter. The incident is being told of 22 February.

According to the police, the age of the woman is 21 years. She lives on rent in Vikaspuri area with her husband and child. She has been living here for almost 2 months. On February 22 she went to Kanchan Kunj, Kalindi Kunj. The victim is a registered refugee, who is of Rohingya origin. The woman alleges that at around 9-9:30 pm when she was returning, her husband went for a minor. The woman was standing near gate number 1 of the metro station with her child. Suddenly an auto driver came near her and sniffed a cloth on her face and kidnapped her along with the child.

When I regained consciousness, four youths assaulted and raped me.

After some time when she regained consciousness, she found herself locked in a room. There were four youths in that room. Where these people thrashed her and one by one they forcibly made physical relations with her. The next day, on the night of 23 February, they made the woman sit in a car and left her at an unknown place. According to the victim, she met two Sikhs there, who took her to their home and fed her. Here the woman showed her UN card to the Sikh’s wife, after which they left her in their car near the house.

Case registered under these sections

After this, the victim informed the police about the matter. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under sections 365, 368, 376D, 323 and 506 of the IPC on February 26 at the Kalindi Kunj police station. Police say that the matter is being investigated. The footage of the CCTV cameras of the metro station has been taken, but the alleged auto etc. has not been seen in it. Apart from this, CCTV footage is also being scanned from where the woman lives. The investigation is on.
