Nangloi Minor Murder: The shocking murder of an 11-year-old girl has been solved after her mother received a missed call from an unknown number on the day she went missing in Delhi’s Nangloi area. The girl, who was allegedly abducted and murdered on February 9, went missing after leaving home for school that morning. That day at around 11:50 am, the girl’s mother received a missed call and when she called again, the number was switched off. The family approached the police and 12 days later, 21-year-old Rohit alias Vinod was arrested in connection with the murder.
The case was registered on 10 February
The victim’s parents had lodged a missing complaint on the day she went missing and the police started investigating the matter. A complaint was filed, suspecting that their daughter had been kidnapped, and a case was registered on February 10. During the investigation, the police traced the mobile number through electronic surveillance and conducted raids in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.
The accused confessed his crime
The accused was caught on February 21 and during interrogation he confessed to the crime. He revealed that on February 9, the girl was murdered and her body was dumped near Ghevra Mor. Police recovered the decomposed body of the girl child from Mundka village. The victim’s mother told that her daughter had left for school that day at around 07:30 am and had gone by bus. When she did not return home till evening, the family approached the police and lodged a complaint. Her mother said that she was the only sister among her four brothers and everyone in the house loved her very much.

The accused took the police team to the place where he had dumped the body and a forensic team was called to investigate the spot. The body was sent for postmortem and the accused was produced in the court and sent to police remand for further questioning. According to senior officials with the police, the exact motive for the murder is yet to be revealed. The postmortem report will confirm whether there was any sexual assault on the girl. Further action is going on in the matter.
