Ujjain. The doors of the temple were opened on Monday during Bhasma Aarti in the world famous Shri Mahakaleshwar temple. After bathing Mahakal with cold water, Abhishek was worshiped with Panchamrita made of milk, curd, ghee, sugary fruit juice, hemp, sandalwood, dry fruits and vermilion ornaments were adorned with beautiful ornaments.
A silver crown of Sheshnag was offered on the head by wearing a silver tripund on the head and a silver moon with a trinetra. Along with garlands of Mundamala and Rudraksh, garlands of flowers made of fragrant flowers were offered.
Offered fruits and sweets, devotees who arrived in large numbers in Bhasma Aarti took the blessings of Baba Mahakal. Bhasma was offered to Lord Mahakal from the side of Maha Nirvani Akhara. It is believed that after offering ashes, the Lord appears from the formless to the corporeal form.
