The Fire Brigade Department of the Municipal Corporation has got a state-of-the-art Aerial Ladder Hydraulic Platform Machine to control and rescue a large building in Amritsar, Punjab. 8.50 crore has been spent for this machine under Smart City Mission. The Aerial Ladder Hydraulic Platform Machine was operated by the Local Bodies Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar and Mayor Karmjit Singh Rintu by remote control at Dussehra Ground, Ranjit Avenue today.

Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar informed that modern Aerial Ladder Hydraulic Platform Machines are excellent for arson control and rescue on big buildings. This modern machine can currently be used in Amritsar as well as in other cities to overcome major incidents. In the coming days, such machines will be purchased and made available in other cities of Punjab also.

Dr Nijjar told that the total cost of this project is Rs 8.50 crore, out of which the machine making company itself has given operation and maintenance of the machine for 7 years and for the first 6 months, the officers and employees of the city fire brigade department were given training to operate the machine. With this platform, the water browser tender already procured with the Fire Brigade Department under the Smart City Mission will be able to control the arson up to a height of about 70 meters by connecting it with this machine. Through this machine, rescue can also be done easily by going up to a height of 52 meters outside the arson building. This machine is equipped with infrared technology, so that the fire can be controlled effectively.

Upgrading fire brigade

Mayor Karmjit Singh Rintu said that the fire brigade department is being upgraded on priority basis. In the past, under the Smart City Mission, the Fire Brigade Department has been upgraded with modern equipment worth about Rs 4.5 crore. In the coming days, apart from providing modern machinery to the Fire Brigade Department of the Municipal Corporation, fire stations will also be opened at other places in the city. With the increase in the population and area of ​​the city, the officers and staff of the Fire Brigade Department will also be increased.
