Market Capitalization: The market capitalization of seven of the top ten valued companies increased by Rs 1,33,707.42 crore last week amid a bullish trend in equity markets. The biggest gain was recorded in Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). Last week, the BSE benchmark Sensex rose 990.51 points, or 1.65 per cent. This also led to an increase in the market capitalization of the top companies. The capitalization of seven of the top ten companies has increased by Rs 1.33 lakh crore.

Market cap of 7 companies out of top 10 increased
Among the top ten valued companies, the market cap of RIL, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, Infosys, State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Ltd and ITC has increased. On the other hand, the market capitalization of ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) and Bharti Airtel registered a decline.

Know how much the value of top companies increased
The market capitalization of the country’s most valuable company RIL increased by Rs 44,956.5 crore to Rs 17,53,888.92 crore last week. HDFC Bank’s market cap rose by Rs 22,139.15 crore to Rs 8,34,517.67 crore. SBI’s market cap increased by Rs 20,526.61 crore and its valuation increased to Rs 5,29,898.82 crore. At the same time, the market cap of TCS increased by Rs 19,521.04 crore to Rs 11,76,860.69 crore.

The market cap of HDFC Ltd increased by Rs 16,156.04 crore to Rs 4,52,396.31 crore. During this period, the market cap of ITC increased by Rs 9,861.07 crore and its valuation was Rs 4,38,538.73 crore. With this, the market cap of IT company Infosys increased by Rs 547.01 crore to Rs 6,37,023.14 crore.

Know which company maintained its status
Thus, at the end of the week, Reliance Industries retained its position as the country’s most valuable company. TCS is at the second position while HDFC Bank has got the third position. They are followed by Infosys, ICICI Bank, HUL, SBI, Bharti Airtel, HDFC and ITC respectively.

By how much the market cap of falling companies decreased
In contrast, the market capitalization of ICICI Bank declined by Rs 1,518.27 crore to Rs 6,31,314.49 crore. HUL’s market cap also declined by Rs 1,186.55 crore and its valuation stood at Rs 5,92,132.24 crore. Bharti Airtel’s market capitalization declined by Rs 222.53 crore to Rs 4,54,182.23 crore last week.
