Manchester United are interested in signing Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres during the winter transfer window.
The Swede has been a revelation for Sporting in all competitions this term. He has netted 17 goals and provided another eight assists.
Correio da Manha claim that United want to bring him to Old Trafford in January and are likely to trigger his €100m release clause.
It remains to be seen whether that is the case. The club are currently in a dire financial situation and are close to breaching FFP limits.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe‘s investment could provide them with funds to spend this winter, but that depends on the Premier League’s approval.
The governing body could take between four to six weeks to ratify Ratcliffe’s proposal to control the club with a 25 per cent stake.
Aside from Gyokeres, the club have also been linked with the services of Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee who has a €40m release clause in his deal.
