Man throws neighbor’s two children down from building, one dies – accused arrested


Maharashtra Crime: The boy died and the girl was seriously injured after a man allegedly threw his neighbour’s five-year-old son and four-year-old daughter from the second floor of a building in Thane, Maharashtra. The police gave this information on Wednesday. Police said that the incident took place on Saturday (February 25) in Devaripada area of ​​Mumbra township and investigations are on to ascertain the real motive behind the crime.

The identity of the arrested accused
An official of the Mumbra police station said that the accused has been identified as Asif and was arrested on Monday (February 27). Asif and his wife do not have any children. He was the neighbor of the victim in the building. There used to be frequent quarrels between the accused Asif and his wife over small matters. According to the officer, the accused were friends of Asif’s wife and the victim’s mother. They used to talk often which Asif did not like. He said that on Saturday (February 25), accused Asif allegedly threw two children from the second floor of the building where they were playing. In the accident, the boy died on the spot and his sister was seriously injured.

The girl told everything to her father
The police officer said that after being thrown from the building, the girl somehow managed to go home and told her father that her neighbor had thrown her off the building. At the same time, the body of the boy was sent to the government hospital for postmortem. The official said that based on the complaint of the children’s mother, the police arrested the accused and registered a case against him under sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
