Gorakhpur Crime News: A 42-year-old man allegedly killed his two children and wife under the influence of alcohol and later committed suicide in Devkali village of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. Police said that forensic investigation has revealed that Indra Kumar Maurya had consumed alcohol on Saturday (February 4) night.
Indra Kumar Maurya’s wife was 38 years old, daughter was ten years old and son was eight years old. The bodies of these three were found on the bed while Maurya’s body was found in another corner of the house. According to the police, Maurya had applied antiseptic on the wounds after attacking his wife, when Maurya came to know that everyone was dead, he set himself on fire.
Had a habit of drinking and gambling
According to the information received from the police, Maurya had gambled Rs 50,000 on Saturday evening. After which he had an argument with his wife. Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover told that when smoke was seen coming out of Indra Kumar Maurya’s house, the people nearby informed the police. Maurya’s brother-in-law has told the police in the complaint that Maurya had a habit of drinking and gambling. Police said that we will investigate all aspects in the investigation.
Another case of suicide
A case of suicide has also come to the fore from Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. On Monday (February 6), a girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself. Kasauli police has registered a case of suicide. The dead body of an 18-year-old girl was found hanging inside the house. The dead body was taken out by breaking the door of the room. Police took the dead body in their possession and sent it for postmortem. Police said that a case of abetment of suicide has been registered in Kasauli police station under section 174 of IPC. The reasons for the girl’s suicide are yet to be ascertained.
