UP Crime: In UP’s Meerut district, on Sunday, a lover couple was shot dead in Pepla village under Jani police station. The boyfriend died on the spot, while the girlfriend succumbed to her injuries during treatment. A pistol has also been recovered by the police from the spot, the police officer gave this information. The deceased were identified as Shubham (21) and Sakshi (19). According to the villagers, both had a love affair for a long time.
Meerut Senior Superintendent of Police Rohit Singh Sajwan said that after receiving information about the incident, the police reached and recovered both the bodies and sent them to Meerut District Hospital for post-mortem. The SP said that the body of the lover has been recovered from the girl’s house. The girl died during treatment at Subharti Hospital in Meerut. SP says that prima facie the matter seems to be of love affair. The police is probing the matter from all angles. At the same time, some villagers are also expressing the fear of honor killing.
Police engaged in investigation of the case
The SSP told that to find the accused, the police is also going to do hand wash and GSR test, so that it can be known who shot and how. The girl’s father and younger brother have been detained for questioning. The family members of the youth are also being questioned. Forensic test is also being done. It has come to know from the people around that both the young man and the girl belonged to the same caste. The family members of the girl reached home after the incident. Before that both were alone at home.
Both were present at the girl’s house at the time of the incident
According to the information, the neighbors told that Shubham and Sakshi were good friends since school days. Both used to visit each other’s place. For two years, there was a lot of closeness between both of them. Both used to meet in the party too. They used to talk to each other as well. According to the crime scene, both the boy and the girl were alone at the girl’s house when the incident took place. Later the relatives of the girl reached home. After this either the loving couple has been killed or both have already shot each other. The relatives first took the girl to the hospital. After that informed the police.
