LIVE Transfer Talk: Toney linked with Man United amid Ronaldo uncertainty

The summer transfer window is closed for the major leagues in Europe. However, with an eye on January, there’s plenty of gossip swirling about who’s moving where. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Man United look to Toney

Manchester United are one of the clubs keeping close tabs on Brentford striker Ivan Toney, according to Calciomercato.

The Bees are reported to have been in talks with the 26-year-old, who has attracted interest from other clubs in the Premier League. He has contributed to eight goals in nine games so far this season, while being named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the Nations League clashes against Germany and Italy in September.

As uncertainty looms over the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, it looks as though the Old Trafford hierarchy have identified Toney as a potential option in January, though Newcastle United, West Ham United and Leeds United have also been watching his situation.

Toney’s contract with Brentford run until the summer of 2025, and the club are hopeful of convincing him to stay at the club with a new £100,000-a-week deal that reflects his performances.
