Live-in partner cut girlfriend into 35 pieces: Aftab used to throw Shraddha’s pieces in the forest every night at 2 am, settled in 18 days

Shraddha’s father had lodged a complaint of kidnapping with the police on 8 November.

There was a sensational revelation in a 6-month-old murder case in Delhi. Lover Aftab Amin Poonawala killed live-in partner and girlfriend Shraddha, cut her body into 35 pieces and kept them hiding in different areas of Delhi for 18 days.

The police arrested the accused Aftab on Saturday. A year back, Shraddha shifted from Mumbai to Delhi to be with Aftab.

26-year-old Shraddha was a resident of Malad, Mumbai.

When and how did Aftab-Shraddha meet?
Both Shraddha and Aftab used to work in the call centre. This is where the two met. Both fell in love, but the family members were unhappy with their relationship. Due to this, both shifted from Mumbai to Delhi and started living in a flat in Mehrauli.

Ankit Chauhan, Additional DCP, South Delhi, said that on May 18, after a quarrel, Aftab strangled Shraddha to death. After this he cut 35 pieces of his body and kept them in the fridge. The police said that he used to leave the house every night at 2 o’clock in the night and put the pieces in different areas of Delhi.

According to the police, Aftab used a saw to cut the body into pieces. He first cut his hands into three pieces. After this, the leg was also cut into three pieces. After this everyday he would put them in a bag and take them to be thrown away.

Both Shraddha and Aftab used to work in the call centre. This is where the two met.

When the daughter stopped picking up the phone, the family reached Delhi
After May 18, Shraddha stopped picking up the family’s phone calls. This worried and father Vikas Madan reached Delhi on November 8 to know about the daughter’s condition. When they reached his house it was locked. He complained to the Mehrauli police and alleged that the daughter had been kidnapped.

Confession- Shraddha was pressurizing for marriage
On the complaint of the father, the police arrested Aftab on Saturday. During interrogation, he told that there used to be frequent quarrels between the two. She was pressuring for marriage. That’s why he got fed up and killed him. Now the police have started searching Shraddha’s body after registering a murder case.
