Asaram Life Imprisonment Sentence: Asaram, convicted in the rape case, has been sentenced by the court. Asaram has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the rape case. A fine of Rs 50,000 has also been imposed on Asaram. Even before this, Asaram was sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of rape, in which case he is lodged in the Central Jail of Jodhpur. Asaram was convicted earlier in the year 2018.
The latest case is related to Gujarat. A girl from Surat in Gujarat had accused Asaram of raping her several times in 2001. In the year 2013, a case was registered and the police arrested Asaram. Since then Asaram is serving the jail sentence. Now after getting punishment in the second case as well, Asaram’s difficulties may increase.
What did the lawyer say after the sentence
After the announcement of Asaram’s sentence, Public Prosecutor R.C. Giving information, Kodekar said that Asaram has been sentenced to life imprisonment under 374, 377. The victim has also been asked to pay a compensation of Rs 50,000. Earlier, it was argued in the court on behalf of the lawyer that Asaram was guilty in another similar case in Jodhpur. That’s why he is a habitual criminal. Which should be declared the strictest punishment.
Rest of the accused acquitted
In October 2013, a Surat-based woman had filed a case against Asaram and seven others alleging rape and illegal confinement. One of the accused died during the pendency of the trial. A charge sheet was filed in the case in July 2014. The court acquitted six other accused including Asaram’s wife in the same case due to lack of evidence.
