Kejriwal government’s preparations speed up to deal with Corona, released 104 crores for hospitals


Delhi Corona Update: In view of the increasing cases of corona around the world, the Delhi government has started preparations on a war footing to deal with any emergency situation. On Monday, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia held a high-level meeting with various hospital superintendents of the Delhi government, including high officials of the Health Directorate, to take stock of the preparations related to dealing with Corona.

During the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed various issues with the officers and all the hospital heads. During the review in the meeting, the current number of normal beds, corona beds, ventilators in Delhi government hospitals and to increase them if needed. He did a detailed review of the deployment of doctors and paramedical staff in hospitals and the oxygen supply and stock of hospitals, stock of essential medicines etc.

Along with this, he instructed the hospitals to assess all the requirements related to Kovid as per the guidelines of the Government of India and share it with the Directorate of Health by this evening. Manish Sisodia instructed that by this evening all the hospitals should provide all the necessary data regarding preparations related to corona.

There is no need to be afraid but to be alert

On this occasion, Sisodia said that the new variant of Corona BF.7 is spreading rapidly in many countries of the world. The Delhi government has started working on a war footing to deal with the spread of a new variant of Corona in Delhi or any kind of emergency arising out of it.

He said that Kejriwal government’s hospitals, our medical and paramedical staff are fully prepared to deal with this epidemic. That’s why our citizens need to be alert rather than afraid of it. Manish Sisodia said that to ensure that there is no shortage of essential medicines in our hospitals, an additional fund of Rs 104 crore will also be given to the Health Directorate so that there is no shortage of medicines in the hospitals.

Mock drill will be organized in hospitals

In fact, according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, Government of India, on Tuesday, December 27, mock drill is also being organized in all the states of the country including Delhi to take stock of the preparations related to Corona. This mock drill will be organized tomorrow in all the hospitals of Delhi Government. In this, every small and big thing related to corona in the hospital will be thoroughly inspected. The focus of the mock drill will be on hospital bed capacity, human-resource capacity, referral resources, testing capacity of hospitals, availability of medical supplies, telemedicine services, oxygen etc.

What are the current preparations of Kejriwal government to deal with Corona

  • Current 8,000 covid beds in hospitals
  • If needed, the number of beds can be increased to 36,000.
  • 928 MT Medical Oxygen Storage Capacity
  • 6000 oxygen cylinders available in reserve
  • Capacity to conduct 1 lakh Covid tests daily
  • All essential medicines available in hospitals
