Police has solved the case of robbery of Rs 5.64 lakh on Domoria bridge in Jalandhar city of Punjab in a few hours. The person who gave the complaint of robbery had himself created the drama of robbery. The accused Rakesh Kumar alias Sonu has been arrested by the police. Police have also recovered Rs 2.64 lakh and Activa scooter out of Rs 5.64 lakh.
Rakesh, the mastermind of the robbery, said that he had written the script of the robbery due to debt on his head. Seeing the money, greed came in his mind. After this, he parked the scooter by hiding it in a street and switched off his mobile and kept it in it. Out of 5.64 lakhs, he destroyed 3 lakhs. 2.64 lakh rupees were allowed to remain in Diggy.
Merchant Mani Arora, whose money Rakesh had gone missing
Rakesh told that after this he went back on foot to businessman Mani Arora’s son Kishanlal resident of New Gandhi Nagar and told him the story of the robbery that some people have robbed money from him on Domoria bridge by showing a pistol. Mani reported the matter to the police. When the police heard the story, the matter seemed suspicious in the beginning. Police took Rakesh into custody and interrogated him.
DCP Jaskiranjit Singh Teja said that different teams had been formed to solve the robbery, but when the matter was suspicious, when the in-charge of police station number 3, Kamaljeet Singh questioned Rakesh, who told himself a victim of the robbery, he broke. He told the whole story of the loot that was hatched. The accused was arrested for theft and conspiracy.
The DCP said that a recovery of Rs 3 lakh would also be made. The remand of accused Rakesh will be obtained by presenting him in the court. On whether the accused is a professional criminal or not, he said that investigation is going on now.
