On Monday, crypto trading was made available in Hong Kong via Interactive Brokers, an automated worldwide electronic broker. Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) trading are now available to professional investors on the Interactive Brokers platform, according to a press release.
In order to be considered a Professional Investor in the Hong Kong capital market, a person must have a net worth of at least HKD 8 million, while a company or other entity must have a net worth of at least HKD 40 million.
Wide Range of Options For Investors
Investors will be able to trade digital assets along with many other worldwide products from a single unified platform thanks to the addition of Bitcoin and Ethereum trading on the Interactive Brokers platform, the business said.
The company’s PR asserts that cryptocurrency trading at Interactive Brokers Hong Kong could be significantly less expensive due to the commission structure (0.20% to 0.30% of trade value) and notes that the launch of these services coincides with the development of a regulated digital asset market in Hong Kong. According to reports, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in Hong Kong is compiling a whitelist of highly liquid crypto assets suitable for retail investors.
