A 99-member Indian Army medical team from Agra landed at Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad on Monday morning.

The Government of India’s ‘Operation Dost’, which started after the earthquake in Turkey, has been completed. The Indian Army team returned from the Indian Air Force’s C-17 Globemaster on Monday morning. The aircraft landed at the Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad at around 10 am. When the army team left Turkey, it came back with a lot of memories and gifts. Made many friends there. A volunteer got signatures from all the soldiers of the Indian Army on his t-shirt. The jawans got a photo shoot done with the people there. Earlier, all 151 NDRF personnel have also returned by three flights till Sunday morning.

Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs in India tweeted, “The medical team of the Indian Army deployed in Turkey under Operation Dost has reached India. The 99-member team successfully established and ran a 30-bed field hospital at Inschedroon, Haiti. About 4000 patients were taken care of for 24 hours continuously in this.

This is how help was sent from India to Turkey-Syria

  • The first crew of 51 members from NDRF 8th Battalion took off from Hindon airbase at 3 am on February 6 in an Indian Air Force C-17 Globemaster in Ghaziabad. In this, drill machines of NDRF, all the equipment used for earthquake rescue, two dog squads have been sent.
  • The second C-17 Globe Master left from Ghaziabad Hindon airbase at 12:30 pm on February 7. In this, 50 jawans of Kolkata-based NDRF battalion went. Search dogs, rescue equipments, vehicles etc. have been sent along with them.
  • A 99-member medical team of the Indian Army from Agra 60 Para Field Hospital went to Turkey on the morning of February 7 in a special Air Force aircraft. Ventilators, X-ray machines, oxygen generator plants, cardiac monitors and 30 assembled beds were sent in this aircraft.
  • Indian Air Force aircraft C-130 Hercules airlifted six tonnes of emergency relief material to Syria. It contains life saving medicines and emergency medical items.
  • The sixth Indian Air Force aircraft C-17 Globemaster carrying 100 soldiers of the Indian Army took off from Ghaziabad’s Hindon airbase on late night of February 7, which has reached Alsubah Turkey. In this, medical equipment has been sent for the treatment of earthquake victims.
  • A 51-member team of NDRF Varanasi left for Turkey on 8 February at 8 pm in a C-17 Globemaster of the Indian Air Force carrying medical equipment.
  • The C-17 Globemaster carrying 35 tonnes of relief material from Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad left for Syria and Turkey at 8:30 pm on February 11.
