Nepal Criminal List: The police of this country has released a list regarding foreign criminals arrested for various crimes in Nepal. According to the list, Indian citizens are at the top of the list of foreign criminals. After this, the second number is the people of China. The Kathmandu Post has given this information citing police data. At the same time, the Nepal Police Headquarters said that in the year 2023, 92 foreign nationals from 20 countries have been accused of criminal activities. Of these, 27 are citizens of India and 22 are citizens of China.
The number of Indians in crimes is more
According to the Nepal Police, the number of Indians committing crimes in the neighboring country may still be higher. They can escape arrest due to open border, local language and cultural similarity. The records also revealed that even though Indians are at the top of the crime list. But, Chinese citizens were among those who committed serious crimes including murder. At the same time, the police have accused two Chinese nationals of murder this year, while there is no such case against any other foreign national.
Arrests made in these crimes
A total of 27 Indians have been arrested in Nepal this financial year. Of these, 13 have been accused of customs duty evasion, 5 of doing fake currency business. At the same time, others were accused of contraband drugs, extortion, kidnapping and forgery. In addition, this year, Thais ranked third in the list with 5 arrests for drug trafficking and one Thai national for fake currency trading.
Nepali police arrested a total of 108 foreigners from 41 countries in the year 2021-22, out of which 31 were Indians, 16 Chinese and 13 Bangladeshi. Similarly, in the year 2020-2021, altogether 30 foreigners from 14 different countries were detained. He was accused of smuggling, forgery, sexual assault and human trafficking, among other crimes. Two people were detained on charges related to pedophilia, including an American and a French.
