India-Japan 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue: To further strengthen the ties between India and Japan, 2+2 ministerial talks will be held in Tokyo today. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Jaishankar will attend it. After completing his visit to Mongolia, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Japan on September 7 for a three-day state visit to Japan. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh paid tributes to the soldiers of the Self Defense Forces of Japan who laid down their lives in the line of duty in Tokyo.
The Japanese side will be represented by Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada and Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi. The India-Japan 2+2 Dialogue will review bilateral cooperation in various fields and prepare the way forward.
India-Japan 2+2 Dialogue
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh along with External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar will participate in the second India-Japan 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue in Tokyo today. India and Japan have a unique strategic and global partnership. This year will be 70 years of established diplomatic relations between the two countries. Apart from the India-Japan 2+2 dialogue, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will hold separate bilateral discussions to further strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries in various sectors.
Defense Minister to meet Japan’s PM Fumio Kishida
The 2+2 dialogue is considered very helpful for high-level dialogue for other issues including defense cooperation between the two countries. He is also scheduled to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida during his visit. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will also attend a community program organized by the Indian Embassy in Tokyo to interact with the Indian community living in Japan.
