India-Maldives Relation: India gave financial assistance of 100 million dollars to Maldives to deal with the economic challenges. Regarding this, Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid has tweeted a video, in which he is telling about his friendship with India. In Hindi language itself, he thanked India for a few lines about the relationship between India and Maldives.
In this video Abdullah Shahid is saying that “Our friendship is strong that’s why it is till now. Our friendship is deep that’s why everyone appreciates it. Friendship lasts like time and friendship becomes history like we do”. He has also shared a picture of the ceremony organized at the Ministry of External Affairs in Maldives. In this, India’s High Commissioner Munu Mahavar is seen handing over the check to him.
“India stands with Maldives in times of need”
At the same time, India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said that the special partnership between the two countries is for each other’s welfare and interests. He said that he stands with Maldives at all times and especially in times of need. Only last month Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra has visited Male. During this, he had met Maldivian Defense Minister Maria and discussions were held to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
