Only a few areas are left where cases of sporadic stubble burning are coming to the fore. But on Tuesday night, a Diwali-like atmosphere was seen in Punjab on the occasion of Prakash Parv.

Due to this less than stubble and bursting of crackers, the level of pollution in the air reached above 400 in Punjab at many places. The highest level of pollution in the air was seen in Ludhiana, Khanna, Mohali. In all these three places, the figure was recorded close to 400. Whereas in Gurunagari Amritsar, Jalandhar and Patiala, including Sangrur district of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the level of pollution in the air has been reported between 265 to 300.

In areas of Nawanshahr, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Barnala, Gurdaspur, Moga, Ropar, Pathankot, Bathinda, Ferozepur, Mansa, Tarn Taran districts, the air pollution level has been recorded in the range of 200 to 230. The most surprising figure has come from the iron city Mandi Gobindgarh. Here the level of pollution in the air went up to a maximum of 129.

Parali burnt at 604 places in Punjab, 165 places in Ferozepur

In Punjab till late night, according to the data of stubble burning in the fields on the remote sensing system of the Punjab Pollution Board, according to which 604 places were burnt in Punjab. The maximum number of 165 stubble burning cases have been reported from Ferozepur district. While Moga district is at second place in the cases of burning stubble in the fields at 164 places. So far, the figure of stubble burning in the state has reached 33090. In Punjab, there has been a sudden drop in the cases of stubble burning. This decline has come not because farmers have stopped burning stubble, but because now in most places in Punjab, stubble has been burnt in the fields and farmers have now made preparations to sow wheat crop.
