On the occasion of Bhai Dooj, there was a crowd of sisters at the district jail since morning. Sisters started gathering at the gate of the jail from 6 o’clock in the morning to offer tilak to their brothers in jail. Special arrangements were also made by the jail administration to get the sisters to sit on the jail. The sisters had reached the jail with food, ammunition and sweets for their brothers. In turn, everyone was given entry inside the jail. There, special arrangements were made for Dooj by laying a carpet on the ground in the jail premises.

Bhai Dooj Tilak of 2513 prisoners
Senior Jail Superintendent Dr. Viresh Raj Sharma said that a total of 2513 prisoners met in the district jail on Thursday. All of them had Tilak of Bhai Dooj. He told that on Thursday, a total of 2327 women had reached the district jail to offer tilak to their brothers.
There were also 979 children with them. While 353 male visitors reached the jail on Thursday and met their relatives. The jail superintendent told that special arrangements were made for the meeting in view of Bhai Dooj at the jail.

Arrangements were also made for the sisters to sit in the jail campus and water and biscuits were distributed to them. The jail superintendent told that all the sisters who had come to perform the tilak of Bhai Dooj to their brothers in jail, all have been met. Not a single sister has returned disheartened without meeting the prison gate.
