Iranian Actress Arrested: Iran’s police has arrested a famous actress. The actress has been accused of removing her hijab in public. According to media reports, the actress did this in support of the ongoing protests in the country. The 52-year-old film star made a video of herself removing her hijab and posted it on Instagram.

Late on Saturday night, the actress wrote in the post, “Perhaps this will be my last post. From this moment on, whatever happens to me, know that as always… I am with the Iranian people until my last breath.” The video of the actress looks like a shopping street. In the video you will see that Ghajiani is standing in a public place without hijab and then she is seen tying her hair.

In fact, it is mandatory for women in Iran to wear the hijab and it is considered a crime to remove the hijab in public. After the death of Mahsa Amini, thousands of women have done this as a form of protest. However, now the actress is in the custody of the Iranian police.

Demonstrations started after Mahsa Amini’s death

Protests against the hijab in Iran have been going on for more than three months. After the custodial death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, a woman of Kurdish origin, protests started across the country, which are not taking the name of stopping now. Till now hundreds of people have lost their lives in the protests. Videos showing the protests coming from Iran are also coming to the fore.

8 people were summoned for inflammatory content

According to the judiciary’s Mizan online news website, Ghajiani was among eight people summoned by prosecutors over “inflammatory” content posted on social media. They included Yahya Golmohammadi, the coach of Tehran football team Persepolis FC, who strongly criticized the players of the Iran national squad for not “bringing the voices of the oppressed to the ears of the authorities”.

Iranian government action on film actors

The national football team made the comments last week after meeting President Ibrahim Raisi ahead of their participation in the World Cup starting on Sunday in Qatar. Mijan said that other prominent actors including Mitra Hajjar and Baran Kosari have also been summoned. Iranian officials describe these protests as “riots” and accuse the country’s Western enemies of inciting them.
