Pakistan Latest News: The political turmoil in Pakistan is not taking its name. Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chief Imran Khan has now instructed party workers to be ready for the ‘Haqeeqi Azadi March’ on Islamabad. According to sources, party workers can be asked for a long march any time after the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad on October 9.
Imran Khan organized a meeting at his residence in the federal capital, The Express Tribune reported. During this meeting, Imran Khan on Monday asked the party workers of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces to make preparations for the demonstration against the government.
Demand for early elections in the country
Imran Khan said that this time the independence march will be taken out with full preparation. Many senior leaders including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak and Yasmin Rashid were present in this meeting. Actually, PTI is trying to open a front against the current government for demanding early elections in the country.
‘Economic crisis due to delay in elections’
PTI chief Imran Khan said that only early elections can end the economic, political crisis in Pakistan. Timely elections could have saved the country from the economic crisis that Pakistan is facing today. He claimed that Pakistan has only one way out of the current situation and that is to ensure fresh general elections in the country.
Deployment of policemen after the announcement of protest
Even before this, while addressing a mega rally last month, Imran Khan had said that he would take the last call for anti-government protests when the time comes. Meanwhile, 1400 policemen have been deployed to ensure the safety of the people and a plan has been issued to ensure smooth flow of traffic across the city.
Actually, Imran Khan was ousted from power in April. He has repeatedly claimed that the no-confidence motion against him was the result of a foreign conspiracy. However, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had agreed to hold the next general election on time.
