IIT-BHU has sent a total of 25 proposals to DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization) in the last 10 days to develop new devices on defense technology. In these proposals, it has been said to make defense equipment based on high power microwave energy, powder metallurgy, functional electronic materials etc. In this proposal, the master plan for making the device and its steps have also been given. As soon as the proposal is accepted, the work on those devices will start in the institute. At the same time, DRDO will produce these devices on a large scale for the country.
10 days ago i.e. on October 20, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between DRDO and IIT-BHU in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. After that DRDO has started the process of setting up its Center of Excellence at IIT-BHU.

We will give full cooperation to meet India’s strategic needs at the level of research. Sending 25 proposals after the agreement is done is a big step. A committee has been constituted to set up a Center for Excellence in the institute. It will work on resources and staff appointments.
