Punjab’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) cabinet minister Harjot Singh Bains has been appointed as the state in-charge for Himachal Pradesh elections. Earlier, he was also given the responsibility of Jammu in-charge. The entire responsibility of Himachal Pradesh elections rests on Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. Minister Harjot Singh Bains is considered close to Manish Sisodia.

In Punjab, he has held the Ministry of Prisons and Mines and after the reshuffle in the Punjab cabinet, Harjot Singh Bains was also given the responsibility of school education. During the election campaign, AAP had prepared the politics of building schools, colleges and hospitals.
