Kangra district has immense possibilities of tourism related to reservoirs, religious places, adventure activities as well as panoramic Dhauladhar mountain ranges. By developing tourism infrastructure in Kangra district, it will also be promoted as a favorite tourist destination of the affluent classes.

Tent city will be constructed in Dhauladhar series
DPR will be prepared and given to the Ministry of Tourism for construction of tent city in Dhauladhar chain. The state government will also provide suitable land and road facilities for this. The capacity of this tent city will be more than 200 rooms and all facilities will be provided in it.

The Chief Minister said that 25 places in Himachal would be developed under the ‘Vibrant Village’ scheme. State-of-the-art facilities will be provided for the tourists at these places.

Pong and Janjehli are being developed under the Swadesh Darshan scheme. The Chief Minister apprised them that the state government was giving top priority to tourism development and several steps were being taken to promote this sector. The Chief Minister said that Pong in Kangra district and Janjehli area in Mandi district would be developed from tourism point of view under Swadesh Darshan Yojana 2. DPR will be prepared soon for this.
