Normal life has been affected in Sagar district due to heavy rains. Water entered the low-lying settlements due to the rising tide of the Sunar river originating from Rahli and Gadhakota in the district. Shops, houses in many areas have been evacuated due to flood situation. People have been shifted to safer places. Due to rain, the Gadakota-Patharia road was closed due to water on the Ghoghra bridge. PWD Minister Gopal Bhargava immediately sent the administration team to the spot as soon as the water of goldsmith river entered the villages and instructed to get the rescue work done. Simultaneously Abhishek Bhargava reached the spot.

where he took stock of the situation. Families trapped in flood waters were rescued and shifted to safer places. Arrangements were made for their food and accommodation. Other essential items including food packets were made available. The houses built in the cottages located in village Basari have been flooded. Tehsildar Kuldeep Parashar and Municipality Gadhakota CMO Dhananjay Gumashta reached the spot along with the team and took stock of the situation.

PWD Minister Gopal Bhargava has issued a helpline number for the people of Rahali and Gadhakota areas in view of the flood in the Sunar river. The Minister has issued a helpline number- 18002572100 to save the flood affected areas from his personal residence. Food packets are being delivered by private vehicles to the flood affected people.
