Thieves broke into the lock of a heard house in the Housing Board Colony of Narmadapuram. They stole gold and silver pockets worth lakhs of rupees kept in the cupboards of the house. All the members of the family had gone to Khandwa to celebrate the Goganavami festival. On his return, the incident of theft came to light. The lock of the main door of the house was broken and wardrobe items were found scattered. As soon as the information was received, the countryside police reached the spot. After investigation, a case of theft was registered.
The complainant Yogesh Chavre lives in LIG Housing Board Colony. On August 18, all the family members went to their maternal uncle’s place to celebrate Khandwa Goganavami festival. After a week when I came back to Narmadapuram. The lock on the maingate was found broken. He looked through all the rooms of the house. The items kept in the room were scattered, the cupboard was found open. The gold and silver pockets kept in the cupboard were missing. Yogesh Chavre told that his mother, wife, younger brother’s wife had kept gold mangalsutra and other pockets. Also, a bundle of Rs 50 and Rs 20 notes was missing. The complainant says that there was a loss of about 8 to 10 lakh rupees. However, in the FIR, an amount of 50 thousand rupees and 7 thousand rupees in cash has been written as theft. Police station in-charge Sanjay Chaukse told that the complainant had gone to Khandwa with the family. Heard the house FIR has been registered. The surrounding CCTV footage is being scrutinized in the matter.
