Health minister said on rising corona cases in Punjab- ‘Ready to deal with any situation’


Balbir Singh on Punjab Corona Cases: Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh said on Wednesday that the government is ready to deal with any situation arising out of the rise of Coronavirus. Balbir Singh said that at present there is no patient infected with corona on ICU or ventilator support in the state and the situation is under control. He said that our oxygen plants are working. Our staff, ward and emergency systems are all activated. Our system is completely ready.

Along with this, Health Minister Balbir Singh advised the people to wear masks while going out, especially in crowded places. He advised immunocompromised patients not to go out. At the same time, people with symptoms of cough and fever were asked to get corona test done. During this, Balbir Singh also reviewed the arrangements of Rajindra Government Hospital in Patiala.

73 cases of corona were registered in Punjab on Tuesday

Let us inform that 73 fresh cases of corono virus were registered in Punjab on Tuesday. Maximum 22 cases of corona were registered in Mohali. At the same time, 14 cases were reported in Jalandhar and 11 in Ludhiana. According to the medical bulletin, on April 4, there were 396 active cases in Punjab and the positivity rate was 3.27 per cent.

Two patients died on Monday

Earlier on Monday, 38 new cases of corona were confirmed in Punjab. Maximum seven new patients were found in Ludhiana in the investigation of 343 samples. Along with this, two people had died in Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar. With this, since April last year, the death toll from Corona in the state has gone up to 217. In the first wave, 20520 people died in Punjab from Corona.
