Delhi Sextortion Case: The crime branch of Delhi Police has arrested five suspects while exposing the sextortion gang. It was told in the police that the accused used to chat with the people first and then later used to blackmail them and collect money from them. The arrested people have been identified as Khurshid Khan, Raman, Murari, Kaluram and Vikram Jatav. The gang extorted Rs 2.7 crore from a businessman in Gujarat and Rs 5.8 lakh from another businessman in Delhi.
Special Commissioner of Police Crime Ravindra Yadav said that after recording obscenity with the woman during a WhatsApp call, the accused approached the complainant posing as the woman’s kin. The accused then claimed that the woman committed suicide because the video was uploaded on YouTube. An accomplice raided the complainant’s place posing as a police officer. The crime branch started investigating the case after a Delhi-based businessman lodged a complaint.

Please tell that the victim received a video call from a girl on WhatsApp and she took off her clothes and also asked the complainant to take off her clothes. Thereafter, the complainant received a call from a person, who introduced himself as Inspector Vikram Rathore of Crime Branch and extorted money from the victim on the pretext of blocking obscene videos on social media. The accused also told the victim that the matter had become complicated as the girl had killed herself as a result of which an FIR for murder was lodged against him.
Police arrested the accused by raiding
The victim gave around Rs 5.8 lakh to the gang. But when the demand was not met, the victim approached the police. The police formed a team of head constables Mohit, Gaurav and Akshay. The team analyzed more than 50 mobile numbers while raiding the accused’s hideout. Also exposed transactions in 10 bank accounts. Police examined CCTV footage of more than 50 ATMs. In the raid, the police found that the gang was operating from Mewat and Bharatpur.
The team went to Mewat and spent more than 10 days there to identify the accused persons, who used to withdraw cash from various ATMs in the area. Eventually the accused were arrested during the raid.
