The king tried three times to tie the kopin around the waist of Guru Nanak Dev, but he could not tie the kopin. Full of wonder and miracle, King Hushang Shah fell at the feet of Guru Nanak Dev. He bowed down and became his disciple.

Handwritten Guru Granth found in wooden box during flood

In the year 1973, a Sikh family of Banapura used to recite the handwritten Sri Guruganth Sahib in the Gurdwara of Kiratpur Punjab. At the same time there was a flood in the Narmada river. Then a wooden box floating out of a house was found in the flood waters in Mangalwara area near Narmada bank. This Guru Granth Sahib was found inside that box. The handwritten Guru Granth Sahib was recognized by that family. With the efforts of Sikh families, the Guru Granth was preserved in the Gurdwara. Since then the Guru Granth Sahib has been maintained by the Sikh family here. Regular lighting, Ardas are performed in the Gurdwara located at Mangalwara Ghat.
