Congress MLA Barindermeet Singh Paha
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has sought details of bank accounts of eight people, including Congress MLA Barindermeet Singh Phara and his family, from the manager of the lead bank, Gurdaspur. SSP Vigilance has confirmed the demand for information from the bank manager. Whereas MLA Barindermeet Singh denied having any information regarding any such letter. But he has expressed displeasure over the viral post on social media.
A letter has gone viral on social media, in which the Vigilance Bureau has issued a letter to the bank manager of Gurdaspur for vigilance investigation, including the bank accounts of MLA Barindermeet Singh Phaha, his brother Nagar Council Principal Advocate Baljit Singh Phaha and other family members and some outsiders. The information related to the servants has been asked to be provided at the earliest.

MLA Barindmeet Singh Phara has said that he has worked with complete honesty and there is no fear of any investigation. He has said that no information has been given regarding the letter. He said that if the letter is issued, it is an internal matter of the Vigilance Bureau. But its leak puts a question mark on the department.

It was told that the letter from Vigilance was shared in a group of all the banks so that all the people could collect information regarding the accounts of the people opened in their respective banks. The letter was shared in the group and only after that someone made it viral.
Police said – will investigate
Confirming this, SSP Varinder Kumar of Vigilance Bureau, Amritsar has said that it will be investigated how the letter went viral on social media. On the other hand, bank manager Kewal Kalsi has described the letter received by the Vigilance Bureau as a routine work.
