Garbage dump over: Years old mountain-like garbage will end with the funds of Swachh Bharat Mission, State Level Committee approved DPR of 166 crores

The tender process will be started for this next month.

State level meeting was held in Chandigarh regarding smart city project. In this, apart from the Smart City Mission, there was a discussion about the projects to be done under the Swachh Bharat Mission. During this, the DPR prepared to eliminate the old garbage dump at a cost of 166 crores has been approved.

Corporation Commissioner Dr. Shena Aggarwal informed that from the fund of Swachh Bharat Mission, approval has been given for setting up a tender for the beginning of the project to eliminate the waste dump. The tender process will be started for this next month.

The corporation commissioner informed that the company which has been given the tender to eliminate 5 lakh metric tonnes of waste, machinery will be installed at the Tajpur Road dump site for the next 15 days. Similarly, to eliminate the remaining 25 lakh metric tonnes of waste, it will also be dismantled soon by setting up a separate tender. He said that the residents of the city would get rid of this problem soon. While the corporation officials are making preparations to bring the project on a large scale to manage the waste coming out of the city every day. Almost preparations have been completed for tendering on the lines of Indore for making Bio-CNG from wet waste.
