In Jagraon, Ludhiana, Punjab, the woman was gang-raped by her Facebook friend along with three accomplices. The accused had taken the woman to a house on the pretext of talking, where he and three of his friends raped her.
City Jagraon Police has registered a case on the complaint of the woman. The main accused has been identified as 24-year-old Jasleen resident of village Agwad Dala. At the same time, his associates have been identified as Karamveer Singh alias Rani Wala Khuh, resident of Bali, Prabhjot Singh alias Pravi resident Agwad Dala and another accused has not been identified yet.
The woman told that she had befriended accused Jasleen Singh on Facebook in the year 2021. Later they started talking on the phone.
The woman said that on September 17, the accused called up and said that he had come to her village and wanted to meet her. He asked her to come to Jagraon, as she was going there to get medicine. On the way, the accused met him and took him on his bike to a house on Kachha Malak Road, where he was already present with him.
The woman alleges that Jasleen Singh took her to a room and forcibly had physical relations with her. During this, three of her friends also entered the room and they all gang-raped her. The accused threatened her to keep quiet. After reaching home, he narrated the whole incident to his family members. Thereafter a case was registered against the accused.
Sub-Inspector Kamaldeep Kaur, who is probing the case, said that a case has been registered against the accused under sections 376D (gang rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. The police also arrested the accused Jasleen Singh. Raids are being conducted to arrest the rest of the accused.
