India’s Self-Styled Godman: A court in Gandhinagar, Gujarat convicted Asaram Bapu in a 2013 rape case, after which the sentence has now been announced. Asaram has been sentenced to life imprisonment again. In this case, the court acquitted six other accused in the rape case – Asaram’s wife Lakshmiben, daughter Bharti, Nirmala Lalwani, Meera Kalwani, Dhruvben Lalwani and Jawantiben Chowdhary. Please tell that Asaram has been serving jail sentence for the last several years. Many cases against Asaram
In the latest case, the Chandkheda police station had registered a case against 8 people, including Asaram Bapu and his son Narayan Sai, under different sections of the IPC, including one or more gang rape, common intention, unnatural offences, sexual assault on women. Includes criminal force, wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation.
While Asaram is currently in Jodhpur jail after being convicted in another rape case, a separate trial against his son Narayan Sai is going on in a Surat court. Two sisters had filed a complaint against Asaram and his son, alleging that they were raped between 1997 and 2006 at the Motera ashram run by Asaram and his son.
Many allegations on Baba Ram Rahim
Many serious cases are registered against Baba Ram Rahim, the head of Dera Sacha Sauda. Recently Ram Rahim came out of jail on parole. The dera chief has been lodged in Haryana’s Sunaria Jail since 2017, where he is serving a 20-year sentence for raping two female disciples at the headquarter of his ashram in Sirsa. In August 2017, a special CBI court in Panchkula convicted him of raping two female followers. A murder case is also registered against Ram Rahim, in which he was sentenced.
Sant Rampal also jailed
When Sant Rampal, who worked as an engineer in the irrigation department of Haryana, entered the world of spirituality, he earned crores. Many cases have been registered against Rampal like opening an illegal abortion center, killing a follower, keeping weapons in the ashram and obstructing government work. Sant Rampal has also been sentenced to life imprisonment.
Swami Nityananda also accused
The name of Swami Nityanand is also included in the Babas who went to jail. Nityananda is also a land lord himself. He presents himself as God in front of his devotees. Nithyananda is also accused of kidnapping children and raping his disciples. He was arrested in the year 2010, shortly after which he got bail. After this Nityananda absconded. He captured an island and declared it a country. Not only this, Nithyananda also claimed to have issued a passport for this island.
Tantrik Chandraswami’s tuti used to speak
All hypocrites are being mentioned, so how can one forget Tantrik Chandraswami. It is said about Chandraswami that he was the first to spread the idea of feeding milk to Ganesha. He was also accused of helping the killers of Rajiv Gandhi. There was a time when the biggest leaders used to attend the court of Chandraswami. He was also considered an advisor to Narasimha Rao. Apart from this, Chandraswami’s wires were also connected to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Several cases were registered against him and he was arrested and sent to jail.
