Fraud of one lakh rupees from businessman posing as custom officer, police is searching


Lucknow Crime: A cyber thug posing as an officer of the Delhi Customs Department has cheated a Lucknow businessman of Rs 1.07 lakh. On Sunday, an FIR was lodged in the Indiranagar police station regarding the matter. The police is now searching for the accused.

Victim Alok Kumar Tripathi has said in his complaint that on Thursday, February 9, he received a call from an unknown number from a person who described himself as Vikas Kumar of the Customs Department from New Delhi. Tripathi was told that his UK native friend Luslu Manda had sent some pounds through parcel and he needed to pay customs duty for clearance of the parcel, else they would initiate legal action against him.

At the behest of Vikas, Tripathi deposited Rs 28,000 and Rs 79,500. He said, I did not receive any parcel and when I tried to contact Vikas, his phone was switched off. Then I shared my ordeal with my acquaintances, who asked me to contact the police.

Let us tell you that recently a similar case had come to light from Lucknow. In which the local people caught fake income tax officials. He was accused of telling people in the market of Sarojini Nagar police station area of ​​Lucknow that he was an Income Tax officer. They came with the intention of forgery and were demanding money by showing fear to the people.

After getting information about the case, the police had arrested two accused in the forgery. The police had identified both the accused as Rajneesh Kumar Singh and Ashutosh Mishra. Further action is being taken against both.
